Welcome to a fun-filled day tour from Medellin to the beautiful towns of El Peñol and Guatapé!

Our journey begins from the chosen meeting point in Medellin, where we’ll hop on a van or bus depending on the group size. We’ll head north of Medellin towards El Peñol and stop for a typical breakfast at a local restaurant along the way.

Once we arrive at El Peñol, we’ll board a boat for a scenic 45-minute tour of the old Peñol reservoir, where we’ll get to see some iconic landmarks such as the Casa Museo, the Cruz where the Temple of the Old Town once stood, the home of soccer player James Rodriguez, and the Marial Stone.

For an additional cost, you can choose to climb the magnificent Peñol Rock, a 220-meter-high monolith that has become one of the region’s main attractions. From the top, you’ll get a breathtaking panoramic view of the reservoir.

After the boat tour and optional climb, we’ll make our way to the charming town of Guatapé. Here, we’ll have time to enjoy a delicious tourist-style lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we’ll take a leisurely walking tour of the colorful town of Guatapé. We’ll pass through the town square, stroll along the Malecon, and walk along the edge of the reservoir before arriving at the port.

We’ll end our half-day tour around 4:30 pm, where we’ll board our transportation back to Medellin. It is also important to carry proper identification documents with you at all times, such as your ID card, passport, or other valid forms of identification.

Punctuality is crucial when it comes to group tours. We kindly ask that you arrive at the designated meeting point on time. We can only wait for up to 5 minutes, and after that, we must proceed with the tour. If you are running late, you will need to find your way to the group on your own.

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as we will be walking a lot. It is also advisable to bring a hat, cap, or umbrella to protect yourself from the sun, and a sweater or jacket, as many buses are air-conditioned.
